Business Law

Business law is a broad category, including business establishment and planning as well as advice and representation of on going businesses.  The following includes some common legal entitles or activities we have been involved with.

Limited Liability Companies: a relatively new legal device which protects personal assets while requiring minimal business "housekeeping>"

Corporations:  various elections corporations make are driven by tax considerations.

Partnerships: a very common business entity, but one which can result in some unfortunate legal consequences if the business fails or the partners decide they cannot get along.

Contracts:  contract law is fundamental to the business world and a well drafted contract is usually well worth the time and costs involved.

Breach of Contracts actions: these types of law suits are very common, and occasionally they can be resolved in small claims court or by arbitration.
